As stated elsewhere in these pages, the Great Orme could be considered a destination in its' own right. There are so many attractions there, that we can't really do justice to them in a short article here. What we will do though, is list some of them, so that you get a good idea of what to expect.
For getting up there and back, You can use the Tramway, Cable cars or coach service. You may drive or, if you are feeling particularly fit, you may even walk. You may ascend by Tram and return by Cable Car or any other mix you prefer. It's up to you.
Once at the Summit, you should visit the Visitor Centre first, as this is the central point of reference for the Orme.. This forms the basis of the Great Orme country Park, and is free to enter. There are video shows about the Park and a live camera link-up to let you view one of the seabird colonies. There is also a range of interactive and informative displays for you enjoyment. There are also nature and historical trails waiting for you to explore.
Next to the Summit bar, there is a grassed area with various items of play equipment for the children to amuse themselves as you relax with a quiet drink as you enjoy the views of Anglesey, Puffin Island, the Conway Estuary and, on a clear day Isle of Man, Blackpool and the Lake District. As mentioned elsewhere, you may also visit the Copper Mines, The St. Tudno Church, Happy Valley or the Alpine ski Centre.
